Adult Coached Swim

Classes

Adult-coached classes welcome swimmers of all levels, from beginners to elite competitors. Each class offers tailored workouts, technique instruction, and motivation to help swimmers reach their potential. Novice swimmers learn the basics of lap swimming. Advanced swimmers complete traditional workouts. Coaches assist with competition preparation and fitness goals.

Participants must be able to swim a length of the pool comfortably with their face in the water and know basic freestyle and backstroke. All swimmers should wear swimsuits and goggles. Swim fins are encouraged.

  • Punch Cards: Coached Aquatics Punch Cards expire six months from the date of purchase.
  • Age: 18 or older.
  • Latecomers: Ask a coach if you can still join the class.
  • Schedule: Subject to change. Be sure to check the website for the most up-to-date information.
  • Note: Family members cannot share fitness passes. Each participant must have their own pass to attend classes.
  • Advanced registration: Registration is encouraged by 6 p.m. the night before the class to ensure class minimums are met and adequate pool space is available. Classes that do not meet minimums may be canceled. Walk-ins may not be accommodated. Registration must be completed before entering the pool area. Coaches cannot register participants.

Guidelines for facility use during programs:

  • Punch passes and class registration fees are valid for the duration of the swim class only.  Use of other areas of the facility is not included with the class admission. Swimmers will exit the pool promptly after class to allow others to use the lanes.
  • Classes start on time. Swimmers will wait on the pool deck for the class to begin before entering the lap lanes and will respect those who are already using the swim lanes for open swim or other programs.
  • Scan membership cards or pay daily guest fee required. Class participants arriving more than 30 minutes prior to a scheduled program or staying more than 15 minutes after a program are required to scan their HRCA Pass or pay a guest fee to access the facility and follow guidelines for daily use of the facility.
  • Locker room use: Program participants may use the locker rooms. HRCA is not responsible for loss or theft of items. Please bring a lock for personal items.

An online reservation is required for ALL Coached Aquatics swim classes. If you need to cancel your reservation, please withdraw online at least two hours prior to the class to free up a spot for someone else. No-shows will result in a class being removed from your punch card. Any questions or concerns with class cancellations can be sent to kerri.mcgrath@hrcaonline.org.

Swim Team

Colorado Masters Swimming

Highlands Ranch Masters Swim LogoHighlands Ranch Masters Swim is registered with Colorado Local Masters Swimming Association (COMSA) and US Masters Swim, allowing swimmers to compete locally and nationally if they choose.

Over the past two decades, Colorado Masters Swimming has grown to over 60 groups statewide, welcoming swimmers of all abilities—from beginners to Olympic medalists—who share a passion for swimming, friendship, and competition.

Colorado Masters Swimming is for you if you want to:

  • Share and enjoy your swimming with others.
  • Improve your overall fitness.
  • Improve your swimming technique.
  • Become stronger.
  • Reduce stress.
  • Have the opportunity to swim in meets as an individual swimmer or as part of a team.

You need to be 18 or older. All ages over 18 are welcome!

It’s one of the main reasons so many join and stay in Masters. It’s a great way to get in shape and stay in shape — and have fun doing it.

Masters swimmers range in abilities and interests from lap swimmers and fitness swimmers to competitive minded swimmers and triathletes. Regardless of your swimming ability and swimming interests, you will be with other swimmers who share your enjoyment of swimming.

Masters Swimming offers a motivating environment for swimming regularly, improving your stroke, and a chance to get to know other swimmers. It’s up to you whether you stay self-coached or join a group.

No. About half of the members of the Colorado Masters don’t compete in swim meets. It’s your choice. Colorado Masters and COMSA hold numerous meets and open water events annually. Whether you’re ultra-fast, sort of medium, or not fast at all, you’ll find others with similar abilities and desires at each of these events.

We encourage you to join a workout group for camaraderie, coaching, and commitment.

HRMS Masters team requires a separate annual membership with US Masters / COMSA. Learn more at USMS.org or e-mail Kerri McGrath at Kerri.McGrath@hrcaonline.org.

If your goal is to compete, the next step is simple. You will need to register with US Masters Swimming and pay the annual fee. This will grant you access to all local and national competitions in the form of organized meets, open water, etc.
