Why HRCA Preschool?

Academic Foundations Through Play-Based Activities

HRCA’s Preschool program is based on a play environment with developmentally appropriate activities which give children the foundation for future academic learning. The children will participate in art, music, finger plays, dramatic play, block building, sand play, puzzles and beginning handwriting skills. Through these activities, children develop physical, emotional, social, creative and cognitive skills.

Toddler (Ages 1-2): Our 1–2-year-old classroom is a loving, play-based environment where teachers support, facilitate and expose your child to experiences that encourage exploration and learning through discovery. This aids in the development of language, basic motor, social, emotional and cognitive skills. Your child will participate in creative art projects and play alongside their peers in a group setting to create and develop emerging friendships.

  • Buttercups at Eastridge
  • Poppies at Eastridge

Toddler (Ages 2-3): Children are cared for in a loving, play-based environment. They will learn how to follow a basic daily schedule and are introduced to early literacy skills though teacher reading and learning individual letter sounds. Children learn to work independently and express their curiosity through discovery. Our teachers create a calm educational setting with activities throughout the week that cover language and literacy, arts and crafts, music and movement, math, science and discovery as well as gross and fine motor skills. Your child will learn to solve problems, developing a sense of achievement and self-confidence.

  • Sweet Peas at Eastridge
  • Bluebells at Eastridge (Ages 2.5-3.5)
  • Cubs at Westridge

Combo (Ages 3-5): Preschool and Pre-k age children will excel in a caring environment that fosters learning in a mixed-age classroom. Older children support younger ones by being role models which promotes progress at each child’s own pace. This class is unique as children learn from each other at different developmental levels. We implement Learning Without Tears, a developmentally appropriate curriculum that engages students in multisensory learning. This instruction aids in developing word recognition and proper writing technique. Teachers will provide and promote social and emotional development as well as fine and gross motor skills. Children will be given tools to help advance problem solving through activities and materials that will support individual growth and learning in preparation for kindergarten.

  • Sunflowers at Eastridge
  • Bisons at Westridge

Preschool (Ages 3-4): In our preschool program children work on letter recognition using the letter of the week and are introduced to Learning Without Tears using shapes to form letters for reading readiness. Games, songs and finger plays are used to learn numbers and letters. Children must be independently potty trained.

  • Shooting Stars at Eastridge
  • Pikas at Westridge

Pre-K (Ages 4-5): Our Pre-K program thrives in a caring environment that promotes kindergarten readiness and solidifies the foundation for learning. We implement Learning Without Tears, a developmentally appropriate curriculum that engages students in multisensory learning. This instruction aids in developing word recognition and proper writing technique. Teachers will provide and promote social and emotional development as well as fine and gross motor skills. Children will be given tools to help advance problem solving through activities and materials that will support individual growth and learning.

Once the forms are complete, please upload to your child’s ePACT and push the “share with Highlands Ranch Community Association Programs.”

4. Obtain a security card from the Preschool Director for entry into the Preschool wing.

Withdrawal Policy

At least one month notice in writing must be given if a child will be withdrawn from the program. Withdrawal from the program will not be accepted after March 1, 2026.

E-PACT is our application software. We have moved our files to a digital format, and this allows us to better manage required forms, like immunizations and authorized pick-ups, but it will also help us get to know your child better so we can do our best to meet their needs. This is REQUIRED paperwork and must be submitted before your child attends. The deadline for this electronic paperwork is August 22.

How do I use e-PACT?

  1. After you register for a licensed program such as Preschool or Camp HRCA, you’ll receive an email invite to share information with HRCA programs.
  2. Click ‘Complete Request’ to create a free account, or log-in if you already have an existing e-PACT account.
  3. Enter the required information, upload required documents and share it with HRCA Programs so that program staff have access.

Before & After School Enrichment

The HRCA operates an Enrichment program at Eastridge and Westridge to enhance the Preschool/Pre-K program. Enrichment is a before and after school program for those enrolled in our Preschool/Pre-K classes only, providing care for your child for a full day, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Families who need full-time care for their child may enroll in a 5 day Preschool or Pre-K class and add Enrichment to make a full day. Families may also choose 3 days of Enrichment, which would give their child full days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The HRCA Preschool wants to provide a flexible care option to meet your needs while maintaining the integrity and quality of the Preschool and Pre-K program you value.

  • Enrichment (school days) $45/$48 daily
  • All day Enrichment (school break days) $55/$58 daily

  • This program includes music, language, swimming, art, building blocks, story time, rest time/nap and snack time. Each week has a different theme. Children participate in special activities related to those themes each week. Enrichment children swim a few times a week.
  • Children are invited to bring napping items like a blanket, or a lovie, and are required to bring a sheet weekly to help them rest with ease.
  • We typically offer additional programs for a fee including swim lessons, science camp, technology camp, ballet, gymnastics and other classes. Our teachers will take your child and pick them up when the class is over. These additional classes must be after lunch as to not disturb your student’s learning.
  • This program is facilitated by the same Preschool and Pre-K teachers you have come to love and trust at the HRCA.
  • This program is licensed with the state of Colorado and therefore maintains the integrity of licensed programs in policy and procedures.
  • A morning and afternoon snack is provided.
  • Parent Provided Lunch: The HRCA Preschools are peanut/nut aware. This means that though we do our best to create a peanut/nut free environment, we cannot guarantee one. We ask that parents DO NOT send peanut/nut products in their child’s lunch. Payments are made monthly for Enrichment.
  • Refunds AND transfers for Enrichment programs require a monthly notice.
